Coming to Edinburgh for university might well be very different to what you expected! But we still want to be a local church that supports you during your time here. Have a look at our new welcome video and the page below to get a feel for what being a part of our Church Family would be like. For more updates for students at Chalmers, check out our Facebook group
We're currently planning on meeting in the church building for our Focus Bible Study nights. This might change depending on guidance (so do keep checking this page!). Sunday services are currently being held in person. If you'd like to visit that would be great! Due to guidance we require that you book a place; to do this please get in touch with Davi.
Focus is our undergraduate student small group that meets on Tuesdays at 5.30pm in the church building. Alongside Sunday services, Focus is at the heart of what being an undergraduate student at Chalmers Church is all about. It is a great way to get to know Jesus better, benefit from the experience of other Christians, pray for one another and encourage one another, all the while building deep and lasting friendships! The evening finishes at 7pm. Get in touch with Davi to sign up.
Link Up Sundays
Normally we would meet most Sundays during term time after the 11.30am service for lots of food, meeting other students, chatting about life and about the sermon. Unfortunately we can't do this! Instead, fortnightly, families from the church would be happy to take you out for coffee/a walk/lunch as a means of supporting you and getting to know you. Sign up for this is available by getting in touch with Davi.
Hopefully we'll still be able to go away in February to lovely, sunny Arbroath where we'll have lots of amazing food and banter as well as lots of really helpful teaching, discussion sessions and seminars! A great opportunity to solidify friendships, make new friends and together grow in knowledge and love of Jesus and the gospel.
Chris Turner, History Student
"The student weekend away is a fantastic opportunity for spiritual growth as a student within the church family. It's great to be able to gather everyone together for a weekend and get stuck into the bible together! It's also the perfect opportunity to take a break from essays and looming exam prep."
